People are now waiting to see if Anwar's united front will be
better, clean and transparent, efficient and fair to all.

So far the measures announced by the new CM of Penang Lim
Guan Eng are very good, they help people of all walks and give
people the impression he will be much better.

Penang will be the icon of how the leadership of DAP , Keadilan
and Pas will show. Lim is to show his policy is going to be better
than the NEP and he has announced he will not implement NEP,
and the Penang Malay Chamber of Commerce has made it clear:
we will support the new government if it can help the Malays too.

These are good signs and this is the Opposition's best chance to
prove they are what they have promised.

Remember the old days when PAP took over from Lim Yew
Hock? I have the same feeling now, even though on a smaller
scale.

PAS has been very restrained so far, I am sure they also want
the alternative front to work, why should they wreck it?

Watching developments from down under....

We see changes. We see a better Malaysia. I used to think that
most of our young Malaysian, esp. the Chinese are hopeless lot
whose concern is only money making. The emerging of so many
capable young professionals as candidates in the opposition
parties is really an eye opener. I am glad that I was wrong. They
give us hope. They are the sparks and fires for this election. A
few gave up their comfortable life and plunge into politic. They
are just as hot blooded as their older generation in their
younger days.

Hopefully Penang and Selangor will spearhead as the most
advanced model states governed by the oppositions. People will
then witness the true benefit of non racial politics.

We expect teething problems in the formation of new state
government in Penang, Perak and Selangor as the the opposition
coalition have no governing experience. It has to start
somewhere.

What we hate to see are the Umno controlled newspapers now
trying their best to provoke misunderstanding and mistrust
among the opposition coalition. Worst, some may even attempt
to offer big sum of money to induce some political frogs from the
opposition to cross over. This is not uncommon in Malaysia.
Anything can happen at this fragile state.

Just keep our fingers cross.
